A Little Elbow Grease & Love - 1500 Holly St, Tyndall

In the early 1900s, local grain and feed store owner August Serr and his wife Barbara (Kielbaugh) Serr built a home together at 1500 Holly Street in Tyndall, South Dakota. Together they raised their daughter and four sons in this home. The Serr's were active in their community and operated the business for 45 years. On April 17, 1959, August suffered a heart attack and passed away. In 1962, Barbara too would pass away and would be laid to rest by her husband in the Tyndall Cemetery. The home they had created together moved into new hands.

Over the years, the home continued to shelter people, but as time went on it fell into disrepair. By 2019, the once grand home was vacant and dilapidated.

Then came someone who saw potential. The house was bought and the new owners began restoring her, recovering the home's charm. Now in 2022, this house is restored and on the market for someone to once again call home.

Tyndall is a town with a long and varied history. Sometimes there are bumps and bruises. Sometimes there is peeling paint and broken boards. Yet, the beauty can be uncovered.

With many things in life, sometimes a little elbow grease and love can save something that at first appearance seems beyond repair.

The Tyndall community has potential and is just waiting for those with the vision.
